Paper Dolls by Japanese Artist Maki Hino

Japanese artist Maki Hino was born on may 4 on the evening of the full moon in Nagano Prefecture (Japan). Lives and works there. Maki started drawing paper dolls from early childhood. In 1993, she became interested in articulated dolls, and in 1997 decided that she would be engaged in dolls professionally and went to study with the famous doll artist Ryo Yoshida in the Studio "Pygmalion".

Maki creates dolls using paper and acrylic paints, first draws the doll, and then carefully cuts and places it on a white sheet of paper. Her work reminds me of my childhood, when we used to put paper cut-out dresses on paper dolls.

Such delicate, thin and wise Oriental paper dolls Maki Hino won the hearts of many people both in Japan and around the world. Let's take a look at her work.
