7 Life Hacks to Get Rid of Mess Forever

No one wants to live in a mess, but sometimes it seems to be stronger than we are. Here are a few life hacks to get rid of mess forever.

1. Get rid of unnecessary things

It seems to be an obvious rule: why would someone keep unnecessary things? But a thrifty Plyushkin — who keeps every little thing — lives inside many of us. Dress that has become little a decade ago? It is OK, I will lose weight and wear it. A mug with a broken handle? This is a gift from a friend, and in general, the mug itself is in good condition, I still can use it somehow. Ribbon and thread leftovers? What if my daughter will want to make bracelets and love beads in 5 years? Do not listen to this annoying inner voice: if a thing has never come in handy over the past year, it is likely to be useless. Moreover, don't be fooled: if you haven't made a nice kitchen board out of that wooden piece yet, you won't. We both know that.

2. Clean up regularly

Arrange a weekly clean-up: let your day-off be not only pleasant, but also useful. Wash the floor, wipe dust and clean things in their places. It is not difficult, but you will notice that it cheers up. Remember: cleaning up little by little and maintaining order are much easier than sorting out a mountain of rubbish that has grown over the years.

3. Wash dishes immediately

Another habit that is worth having is to wash dishes immediately after eating. My dad always washed his mug and plate, so after dinner, there were no horrible piles of dishes, left in the kitchen.

This is not only ugly, but also dangerous: one mountain of dishes jeopardizes the whole order in the kitchen! If your sink is filled with a bunch of utensils, all adjacent surfaces get dirty stains immediately, and a table is covered with trash and dirty food. Besides, nobody wants to clean those piles. It is much easier to rinse a plate and be calm for your kitchen.

4. Do not buy unnecessary things

Another rule that sounds obvious, but is not always fulfilled. Imagine: you go to a store and suddenly see these tempting red arrows with 50% discount.

So, you do not remember what was further... As a result, you come out from the store with a large bag with the tenth cute notebook, a little crumpled teddy bear, socks with cupcakes pattern and some other incomprehensible thing, which you had to take because of 80% discount. Don't do that. Of course, if you need this thing even at full price, the discount is a great way to save money. But if you throw something into a cart just because of its low price, then this thing is 99% useless.

5. Buy things of good quality

For example, you decide to buy new earrings. To save money (because you have spent half of the budget in previous store with 50% discounts), you buy cheaper jewellery. As a result, a week later it turns black, breaks or falls apart. So, you have to buy new earrings already made of silver. But it is a pity to throw black earrings away as they're brand new, so you keep them just in case. It is better to buy a good thing immediately, and leave trash in stores. You do not only pay twice, but also clutter up your house with unnecessary things.

6. Get each thing its place

Here everything is very simple: clothes are in a wardrobe, cream is on a bedside cabinet, and a comb lives on a hallway shelf, and it should not be on the bedside cabinet, or in the wardrobe. After use, always put an item to its rightful place. Even if you have a lot of things, this life hack will help you organize them.

7. Use organizers

Even better, if there is a box for jewellery, and pencils and pens have their organizer. So, they will occupy less space and will not be constantly lost and found in unexpected corners of your house. Compare how much space is occupied by jewellery on the dresser

and how you can put it in just one box.

The second option looks much more accurate!
