Less than a week ago, I got back from the Solovki. On the day of my departure, I got caught by paintings exhibited for tourists near Kremlin. I did not have much time to look at the pictures as I was in a hurry to the ship. The way to Tamarin pier is not close, and my camera had no memory. So, I decided to study the contestants` works at home :)

About the Competition

The organizers of "My Solovki" All-Russian Paintings Contest were Solovetsky Museum-Reserve and Children's Art School № 1 in Arkhangelsk. The competition was held with support from the Ministry of Culture of Arkhangelsk region.

The competition presented 300 works online, the jury selected 90 paintings from them for the final. At the second stage, the participants had to send the originals of their works. The winners were the artists of the most creative, vivid and profound works of art. They reflect history, architecture, nature and modern life of the Solovetsky Islands. There were winners in different age group (7-9; 10-13; 14-17 and 18-25 years), in the categories "Painting" and "Graphics". A five-year participant of the competition got a special prize.
