In this tutorial, we will paint a spoon in Khokhloma style.

Such spoons are very nice to paint. It is not difficult, it can be a bit uneasy to paint inside a spoon, but there's nothing you can do about it.

Before painting, prime the workpiece with a mixture of water and PVA glue and then smooth with sandpaper, otherwise wood fibres will stick out from under the paint, and it will be very difficult to paint.

After drying and sanding, apply the first coat of paint, then the second. When the second layer is dry, you can start painting.

After painting, the spoon can be varnished if you worked with gouache. If you used acrylic paint, you can skip it. For varnishing, I put an awl in a spoon and it got dry in hanging position.
