He is called the most outrageous designer of the 20th century. His works cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and collectors from all over the world are literally hunting for them. Mattia Bonetti became famous because of his unusual furniture.

The designer was born in Switzerland into a family of antique dealers. The boy grew up in a creative environment, and went to study art. At first, he worked with fabric, then photographed a lot and enthusiastically and only in the 80s got engaged in interior design. Together with other talented artists, he designed shops and a flat for Christian Lacroix. Also, he created eccentric interior for Bugaloo castle for Picasso`s grandson. His works in Neo-Baroque style became famous instantly. Some criticized them, others admired. But nobody was indifferent.

After Mattia Bonetti began to work alone, he focused only on furniture. Tables, sofas, consoles and cabinets by the designer can not be confused with any other. He uses an abundance of materials, different textures and shapes. Nothing seems impossible to him.

For gold-plated elements, as well as chains and beads, Bonetti`s furniture is also called jewellery. The designer himself says that he makes furniture in a single copy. After all, the world has too many copies and series.

Bonetti's favorite colour is orange. Maybe that's why his works look so cheerful.
