If you want to bring ECO-STYLE to your home, our article, we hope, will be useful for you.

The most important thing we are to understand, choosing eco-style, it is not only a beautiful and harmonious picture, but also a certain system of values. On the one hand, it is about taking care of the environment, on the other, it is about warm, cozy spaces, where you can see the connection of human with nature. Let's start and plunge into the understanding details of creating eco-style primarily in your soul, because such an interior should come from within, in harmony with your inner world.

COLOUR SCHEME

Environmental focus style sets primarily colours used in decoration. As a rule, these are shades that we meet in nature: sand, earth, grass, pine, terracotta, blue, white. Only "acid" shades and sharp color combinations are excluded, because eco-style interior should make you rest, relax. Eco-style also loves green shades — from pale and delicate to rich emerald.

MATERIALS

Eco-style room uses primarily natural materials, as an exception — their imitation. First of all, it is wood, stone, cork tree, ceramics, glass, paper, wicker or rattan panels. The walls can be decorated with paper wallpaper with plant motifs, or cork panels — both support eco-style in a room. A wooden panel will look very aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. Plaster, painted or whitewashed, is also quite environmentally friendly wall coating. Ceilings are either covered with plaster or wood. Floors are often made of wood or ceramic tiles.

FURNITURE

For an eco-style flat you may choose wooden furniture of simple shape, quite massive, and the shape should be as natural as possible — either straight and even rough, or, on the contrary, smooth, imitating natural curves. Choosing eco-friendly furniture made of wood, you should pay attention to the connected parts of such items. Do not hesitate to ask the manufacturers for this information. Glue must be free of toxic components, as well as oils, which are used to coat the product and serve as additional protection. Oil must be of very high quality. Usually eco-furniture uses hardwood trees — oak, elm, ash. In eco-style, with limited budget, you can use high-quality MDF in small details when decorating the interior.

There are many rumours around MDF, but let us dispel these myths and introduce you into the swing of things. When producing MDF, wood fibres are dried, bonded and formed in the form of a plate, which is processed by high pressure and high temperature. Paraffin and lignin are used as fastening elements. Lignin is a natural substance found in every tree. It is taken from wood by means of high temperature. No harmful resins and phenol are used in MDF production. Therefore, we can say that MDF is an environmentally friendly material. ⠀

LIGHT

As much natural light as possible – this is a mandatory requirement of eco interior. If it is not enough, you need to add artificial lighting.

DECOR AND INTERIOR DESIGN

Eco-style does not like piles of objects, so, it is close to minimalism, because nature has nothing superfluous. Therefore, decor usually performs utilitarian function. For example, wicker baskets and chests in the interior become convenient storage places. Simple rugs give exclusivity and insulate stone floors.

Mirrors play an important role in the life of any person, no matter what interior style we like. If we are talking about eco-style, mirrors can also decorate your house, highlighting the mirror itself with eco-friendly material, such as slices, wooden saws and most importantly, you can make it with your own hands.

Live greenery is another "tool" with which you can liven up the simplest interior or turn an ordinary room into a tropical forest.

The main rule is to follow a sense of proportion. You can not oversaturate interior decor, no matter how "right" and suitable for the occasion it may seem. Otherwise, you can get the opposite of the expected result.

MODERN ECO-STYLE HOME

Eco-style has left flats and went further. If earlier designers were satisfied with implementation of timber or log walls, or covered lower parts with "wild" stone, now the task is wider: the house is trying to "fit" into the surrounding landscape, which sometimes leads to very eccentric design solutions. For example, some houses literally burrow into the ground, or "hang on the branches" in an attempt to merge with nature. Here are several examples of eco houses:
