Making Rings: Artistic Look on Creating Mokume-Gane Rings

The creation of mokume-gane rings is a long and painstaking process. In addition, it is very beautiful, and is able to inspire the artist right at work. In these photos you will see the birth of rings almost from the very beginning — from the processing of a package of precious metals welded by the boundary layer. The package will be assembled, sintered, rolled, only after that we will begin its transformation into jewellery.

But these are not just photos of the process: it is an attempt to show something more, the amazing beauty of metal transformation and harmony of simple things and actions that make up the routine work of a jeweller.

So, our hero is a package of metals, workpiece for products in the technique of mokume-gana.

In the first photo next to it there are two platinum pieces with silver plugs for fitting. Soon in place of silver you will see mokume rings. The transformation of the blank is coming :)
