Watercolor Fragrances by Jo Malone: Caught, Stoppered Summer

Usually I tell you about small craft perfume shops, today in the title of the article you may see quite famous perfume house. Why? It's simple. Yes, it will be about Jo Malone, but about the time when it was a real artisanal workshop, known only within the hometown.

Are you familiar with the amazing story of the founder of this brand?

This woman survived poverty, bullying and illness and deserve to have become one of the symbols of the Great Britain.

It inspires and motivates!

Mary Jo Malone was born in 1964 in the UK. She grew up in a poor family. Her father worked as a painter and her mother was a cosmetologist.

Jo had constant problems at school. The future founder of a multimillion-dollar brand suffered from dyslexia. She could not distinguish left from right, could hardly write dictations and could not distinguish between tenses. Because of these things her classmated mocked her.

Perhaps it is dyslexia that made Joe perceive the world differently - through the flavors. She felt them subtly and from an early age began to create her own.

At the age of 14, she left school and began to study floristry. Jo made bouquets so that the flowers combined with each other by smell.⠀

Then she began to help her mother in cosmetology, and then completely replaced it. The girl herself made amazing creams and masks, sprayed massage sheets with aromas of her own composition.

After long days and nights of witchcraft in the kitchen, trying to create unique flavors and skin care products, no one was surprised that in 1983 the future perfumer opened a beauty clinic in Chelsea. It became immensely popular thanks to a special approach to customers and unforgettable flavors.

To consolidate success, Mary went to the capital of French perfumery, to Grasse, and returning, she creates "Nutmeg & Ginger" bath oil for the first and most beloved customers in 1994, and grateful customers came back for it again and again. One of them ordered a hundred bottles of this oil as a gift to friends. Over time, the number of people who wanted to buy this oil reached several thousand, customers literally idolize the masterpieces by Mary Joe. So in 1994, Jo Malone brand appeared.

A feature of colognes and perfumes by Jo Malone is the ability to combine flavors with each other and create their own compositions.

Jo's life was full of problems. She had to sell the company and survive breast cancer. But every test made this strong woman even stronger. After her illness, she was even offered to be a hostess on the BBC.

After selling the brand to Estee Lauder cosmetic corporation, Mary Jo remains the main perfumer of the brand, and therefore the beauty and chic created by her heart and soul of perfume, will please her fans for a long time.

Jo Malone has 40 fragrances, offering an infinite number of combinations. Most often, the aromas are produced in a concentration of colognes. In summer they are felt especially unique and crystal.
