Decorating Boxes with Geometry Pattern in Decoupage Technique

Geometry in decoupage
Wooden boxes are convenient for use and perfectly complement the decor of any apartment and cottage! Today we will decorate wooden and plywood boxes in decoupage and dot painting techniques, using geometric ornaments! Life hack: decorating two products, you will save time on the drying process (while one product dries, work with the another one!) At the end of the creative process, you immediately get 2 boxes: one in the style of Gzhel, another Azulezhu!

You will need:

  • wooden box;
  • plywood box;
  • white acrylic paint;
  • acrylic tinting paint;
  • PVA glue;
  • napkins;
  • decoupage cards;
  • scissors;
  • brushes;
  • acrylic lacquer;
  • acrylic paint in tubes.

So, let us begin!
Step 1
Priming

Take the boxes to prime them with acrylic paints. When priming, use white acrylic paint, adding acrylic coller. On the palette, mix the paint to achieve the desired shade and apply it on the product. Let the boxes dry.

Step 2
Decoupage
Choose napkins or decoupage cards, matching colors and patterns, cut.

With the help of PVA glue and brush, paste ornaments.

After complete drying varnish boxes with acrylic lacquer. It is better to repeat twice.
Step 3
Dot painting

Dots, applied to the boxes, highlight key points. Create effects of light and shadow, make your products brighter and more expressive.

As a result, we got two boxes at once: one in the style of "Gzhel" (Russian folk painting), the second – "azulezhu" (Portuguese tiles). Products created with love will serve you many years!
