Tutorial "Forest Moss in Interior."

Spring has come, and the summer season is about to open. Do not be lazy and walk in the spring forest. You will get a portion of fresh air, enjoy the spring landscape and at the same time will be able to pay attention to natural materials, which are perfectly visible due to the lack of lush greenery.

Having been on such a walk, I came up with the idea of using forest moss sphagnum in the interior. Almost every house has plants that are grown in different containers of different materials. Let's change the established stereotypes and bring a piece of nature to the interior.

1. Materials you will need:

Moss sphagnum 1 layer 30x30cm., any plant of your choice, thin wire or nylon thread, plastic pot, wire cutters, drainage, rooting fertilizer, stones or gravel, tray, dish or plate.

2. Preparation of the moss layer for work.

Moss layer is 30x30cm. It will be enough to make a moss pot-ball for the plant, with a diameter of the root system of 12-14 cm. Clean the moss layer from dry inclusions (pine needles, twigs), shake off with your fingers or a good option, paint brush. This allows the moss not only to look brighter and cleaner, but also prevents it from rotting and darkening.

3. Create a ball of moss for planting.

The basis will be an ordinary plastic pot a little larger than the pot, in which a plant is growing now. The photo shows a version of the ficus ampel "Pumila". The diameter of the pot is 12 cm. Divide the moss layer into several parts.

Applying moss to the pot, fasten the wire, winding around. Gradually applying layer by layer, fasten the wire, winding the form. Do not forget to leave 3-5 cm of moss for the bend of the top of the ball.

4. Preparation for planting.

Remove the pot from the moss mold. Spray the inside and outside with water, with the addition of "Fitosporin", it will protect the plant from various pests that may be in the moss. Inside, at the bottom, place a plastic film with a side of 2-3 cm. Now, when watering, water will not flow out of the ball immediately, and the plant will be able to obtain the necessary amount of moisture for growth.

On top of the film, on the bottom, you need to add 2 table spoonfulls of drainage (expanded clay), preferably of small fraction. This will allow the roots to breathe, to be saturated with oxygen. After all, for full growth not only regular watering, spraying and fertilizer are needed. The root system must be oxygenated. Unlike pots, especially plastic ones, moss pot breathes.

5. Planting.

For the best rooting of the plant, it is best to take advantage of growth rooters. I recommend from my own experience powdered mass "Kornevin". Sprinkle it lightly on the bottom and inner walls.

Remove the plant from the pot and gently place it in the moss ball. Fold the top edges, covering the top layer of soil.

Take a ball with a plant in your hand and shape the ball with light beginnings. To secure the form, you can wind the thin wire around.

Ball of moss, you place in the interior, putting it on a flat ceramic or glass container. For example, a tray or dish for sushi, a beautiful plate. Add some gravel or natural stones of different sizes to the tray. Interior composition is ready.

Taking care of this composition is quite easy. Spray moss when watering. Make universal fertilizer once every 2 weeks (from April to October) to feed the roots and for full growth.

Good luck!
