How to Make Felt Educational Сards for Children
  • Category: DIYs
  • Practices: Sewing

This tutorial is for those who want to sew 55 buttons and make a cool game for a child! :)

So, let`s start.
1. Make stencils of numbers on paper. Print (pattern attached) or draw yourself. Cut. Transfer to felt and cut.
It is better to take Korean hard felt 1.2 mm thick.

2. Cut out 10 circles of white felt (I have 7 cm diameter). Cut out larger felt circles for the back side.

3. Cut out 10 rectangles of white felt (I have 7*13 cm). Also bigger part for the back side.

4. Sew on any buttons from 1 to 10 ones on white rectangles.

The colors of numbers should be of rainbow colors + brown, gray and dark green. The color of the digit on the circle, the color of its back side and the back side of a rectangular cards, corresponding to a certain digit, must be the same.

5. Sew white and colored rectangles together.

6. Sew the numbers on the white circles. Hide the thread. Then sew it with a colored base.

7. Hide threads, cut out, so that the color felt is bigger than white a little.

You're done! Game is cool! Bright and useful! make it to cheer your children up!
I want to note that even if there is a sewing machine, you can sew this game completely by hand. A little more time, but the result would be great! :)

What can you do with your baby?

  • Learn colors;
  • Learn the numbers;
  • Lay out cards in the correct numerical series;
  • Count buttons;
  • Compare the card with the number and buttons.

That's all :) Thank you for your attention! Enjoy and happy game!
