Stained Glass Painting for Beginners: ''Saint Petersburg'' Painting

Today, with the help of stained glass paints, we will depict the main Avenue of the most beautiful city of Russia, Saint Petersburg. We will use a minimum set of colors, but will place bright accents on some details.

To work in the technique of stained glass painting, we need:

- frame with glass (conventional or plexiglas) A4;

- acrylic contours of black pearl and bronze colors (if desired, you can replace them with the color of brass and gold or copper);

- stained glass paints on an organic basis of black, blue, blue, green, red and yellow;

- wooden stick for applying paints;

- acetone or alcohol;

- diluent;

- wipes (wet and dry).

Print out a picture with a cityscape or depict it on paper yourself. Place the sheet with the pattern under the pre-degreased with alcohol or acetone glass.

Now we start working with acrylic contours. The main circuit, which we will use when working — black mother-of-pearl. In this example, the contour of the "Tair" — a rather thick, easy to draw contour of a beautiful graphite color.

We trace the pattern with thin lines, holding the tube of paint at a short distance from the glass, without touching its surface.

The drawing has a lot of fine lines, the work is quite long and painstaking, but the result is impressive.

With the help of acrylic contour bronze color will highlight the balloons. Before starting work with the new color, it is better to wait for the first pearl black layer to dry.

Now paint over the balloons with bright stained glass colors. Apply paint in a thick layer, so that the colors to be bright.

We will not paint over the objects in the picture completely, we will pay attention only to some details. The black color is diluted to grey and used in some parts.

The leaves on the bushes paint over with light green paint.

Bright emphasis will also be made on the car. First was the idea to make the color of the car to match the greenery. Glass paint over with a light blue shade. To do this, mix the blue paint with diluent.

Look at the result. Perhaps a bright yellow car would look more spectacular?

The work is ready. The picture should be left for a day to get dried, and then you can hang it on the wall.
