Happy Cosmonautics Day!

I, as always, present you one more tutorial on painting porcelain Christmas toys — the first spaceplane of the Soviet reusable space transport system Buran.

In the work I use stained glass painting technique on the base of mother-of-pearl coating, which allows to achieve an awesome effect — a glass toy.

Many talented artists work in our workshop and each of them is unique. I would love to thank Irina Maslennikova for this Buran! :) It was she who made the model of plasticine, which later turned into such a wonderful porcelain toy! :)

Used material:

• stained glass paints Glasmal Farbe C. Kreul.

Stages of painting:

• primer;
• painting.

I would compare this technique with Alla Prima technique in watercolor, we do not use contours and paint directly on the figure, playing with colors, shades and transitions.
