Sea with Several Strokes of Artist

I have decided to write this article about the style of minimalism in painting and seascapes.

Sea water is a stunning object for visual exploration and painting. How different it can be. You should stand with a camera during the sunset on the beach near the water and every 5 minutes take a photo during an hour, you will get completely different from each other stunning images. Besides, they will transmit different light and color, water play, its movements, glare and shadows. The coast, plenty offoam, the light on the wet stones will also change. Thousands of invisible to the eye of an inexperienced visual researcher details make up an image of the sea. Tactile and noise effects are added to visual information. Absolutely unique smells and sounds always accompany and saturate the overall picture of the sea. The weather at sea can also change. From calm, quiet, to noisy and turbulent, sea can go literally in a two-hour period.

This is interesting. An artist does not necessarily need to paint thousands of little details for a viewer to recognise sea in a painting. For an artist working in the style of minimalism, just a couple of confident movements on the canvas are enough, and the audience will add everything themselves. Audience`s imagination and memory will add light breeze, smell of the seaweed, seagulls, seashells on the shore, a sense of peace and tranquility that gives the sea.

These are the feelings you get from the paintings of Scottish artist Chris Bushe. Look how large, pasty strokes of paint smoothly blend into sand on the beach, sea surface, into distant hills and sky. Stunning works, they convey the landscape so clearly, sunlight, mood of the sea. Color is an indispensable assistant of the artist. It is with the help of color combinations that previously foggy morning appears, sky covered with storm clouds and golden sunset.
