Philosophy of Nature: Haute Couture by Nguyen Cong Tri

Vietnamese designer Nguyen Cong Tri is a true haute couture philosopher. The designer graduated from the University of Arts in Ho Chi Minh City and became famous in 2000, winning the design competition in the category of "New Ideas". After that, he collaborated with Vietnamese celebrities and entertainers, gradually developing his style. In 2013, Nguyen Cong Tri became the first Vietnamese designer in history to open his own Haute Couture fashion house.

The aesthetics of the designer is beautiful and recognizable. Complex, multi-facet and multi-layered silhouettes unfold before the viewer like a flower: under hyper-volume jackets and coats — fragile femininity of silk and lace, behind the monochrome facade — gardens of appliqués, pleated fabrics, embroidered and hand-knitted elements.

Nguyen Cong Tri names his collections simply by numbers. This is the essence of his work: combination of modern minimalism and Vietnamese traditions, simplicity and complexity, which has no color and blooming. You can admire each outfit infinitely— and still find something new.

I suggest taking a closer look at the outfits from the latest collection by Nguyen Cong Tri — №10.
