Making Summer Handmade Necklace

Spring comes into its power, summer is not far away... Soon it will be possible to remove coats and jackets and delight passers-by with your bright creative outfit! Jewellery or accessories can complement any female outfit. Today we`ll make a necklace from wooden beads and decorate them in decoupage and dot painting techniques!

Step 1. Project of your beads.
Choose one-dimensional or different-sized beads, determine their number on the thread (fully filled thread or partially). If beads are of different sizes, decide in what order you will organize them.

Step 2. Primer the beads.
Select color of acrylic paint you need. Lifehack: put each bead on a wooden stick for instant, even coloring.

If all the beads are decorated with decoupage, I do not recommend making them dark, decoupage elements will be invisible on them. You can paint the beads in different colors from dark to light, adding white acrylic paint. After coloring, put the sticks at a distance from each other not to touch the beads. Leave the beads until completely dry.

Step 3. Selection and preparation of the decoupage pieces. Decoupage.
You can use decoupage napkins or decoupage cards. For beads` decor, you need to choose small elements for gluing (flowers, geometric shapes, abstract details), cut along the contour.

If you use napkins, then cut out elements should be separated into two lower unnecessary layers. With the help of PVA glue and a brush, glue the cut out elements to the beads held on the sticks.

After staining, make sure beads do not touch each other. Leave to dry.

Step 4. Varnish.
Varnished each bead, using acrylic lacquer and a brush. The varnish is applied evenly on the entire bead, keeping it on the stick. After drying the first layer of varnish, apply the second layer.

Step 5. Dot painting.
Take acrylic paint in tubes for dot painting and start painting beads. If a bead is with decoupage, then points can outline the contour of a drawing or floral ornament to emphasize color transitions.

If a bead is simply painted over, then you can use your imagination.

Step 6. Threading.
According to the project, string the beads on a thread or tape. It is possible for them to fit each other tightly, distantly. Distance can create dense nodules that hold beads in place or other small beads that separate large beads from each other.

The necklace is ready, wear it to the delight yourself and others!
