Kendall Jenner in Sequin Embroidered Dress at Chanel Spring/Summer 2017

Fashion house Chanel has revealed their workshops a few days before the presentation of spring-summer collection 2017. They showed us all the stages of creating a dress with mirror embroidery, in which the model Kendall Jenner walked at the show.

Admire the details of the process!

We will see how the scheme of embroidery is transferred to the fabric by the pounce — "Prick and Pounce". Firstly, holes are pierced on paper with a special machine along the entire pattern, and then through the holes with a special solution, paint is applied to fabric. Amazing process!

We will see how the pattern for the dress was embroidered. Embroidery on the grid was made of many mirror sequins of polygonal and rectangular shape, scattering of sparkling crystals of multifaceted and cubic forms. All materials are tightly sewn to each other at different angles. All together they create a stunning effect of light game.

Embroidery for such a complex attire requires concentration and efforts of several people. The skirt at the hip line adorned with long white feathers that hides its length gives an airy feel in contrast to cold and icy top. Please note that the fringe of long feathers is ready and is waiting for the right time!

The bottom of the skirt is made of transparent mesh with rare sequins sewn on it.

The details of the bodice.

Here all the parts cut and embroidered separately are joined together, and we see the finished outfit on the mannequin in the studio.

Let us have a closer look.

The outfit is narrow, long, sleeveless with a deep neckline. The waist is girdled by a wide silver belt with a buckle. The outfit is tightly embroidered with mirror sequins and crystals.
