Painting a Winter Landscape with Oil Paints

"Cold frost and shine: day of wonder! " wrote the great Alexander Pushkin.

You can't put it into words better. But you can paint such a day. Winter looks special in childhood. Snow-covered streets, houses, trees are seen as fabulous scenery. Even the bright sunlight plays with whimsical blue shadows. It shimmers with rainbow sparks on the white fluffy snow. All this was the main idea of my painting. Old Nikitskaya street in Vladimir. One of the characters should have been a child. I painted from his point of view. Therefore, I chose a more impressionistic manner and palette: bright, enthusiastic colors. This is completely author's work. Composition, characters, lighting and much more was made by me and found in the course of numerous sketches.

I offer a video of the process of creating a picture "Step forward!" This picture was an order, and it is a repeated version of my earlier painting.
