What is she — a strong Russian woman? Is she the one that "can enter a burning peasant`s hut and stop a galloping horse"? Or is strength is in female softness, delicacy?

In her new collection of spring-summer 2019 Ulyana Sergeenko takes as a basis two female archetypes from the classical work by Mikhail Sholokhov "And Quiet Flows the Don" — a bold, passionate Aksinya and calm, gentle Natalia. Overall, there were 28 outfits, in which embroidered translucent skirts coexisted with rough boots, and elegant fitted silhouettes — with leather jackets and man-like shirts. Stylistically, two worlds collided in the collection: recognizable Cossack images harmoniously reflect modern fashion trends — multi-layers, volume shoulders in the 80s style, asymmetry and variety of textures.

I would like to tell you about the show, which took place during Paris Fashion Week.

The background for the fashionshow was a mini-film, shot specially for the show. The video author called it "Sisterhood", she is Ellen von Unwerth, a photographer, known for her unsurpassed ability to reveal female characters. The main characters of the fashion story were played by actresses Renata Litvinova, Maria Fomina and Svetlana Khodchenkova.

Svetlana Khodchenkova also became a star of the show, showing the emerald dress of the collection, and Natalia Vodianova tried on a passionate bright red set with a scarf.
