Fragile Beauty of Glass Christmas Decorations

There is a legend that the first Christmas decorations were edible and apples took not the last place among them. Selected, beautiful, red and yellow — they looked festive on the background of dark green branches. Once there was a bad harvest year and the glass blowers of Lauscha in Thuringia (Germany) offered their help to temporarily replace apples with transparent and colored glass balls. According to legend, this story happened in 1848.
