Portraits in Harmony with Nature by Sister Golden: Romantic Images and Famous Personalities Composed of Twigs and Petals

Sister Golden is a creative union of mother (Vicki) and daughter (Brooke). Together they opened an online store of rare handmade goods, collecting interesting author's gizmos and paintings by independent artists around the world. The creative atmosphere has been maintained by the women of this family for generations — Vicki's mother and Brooke's grandmother was a designer and photographer, and her 1960s California ranch was far ahead of its time thanks to the boldness of it style. Vicki studied graphic design, textiles, jewelry creation and painting. Her daughter Brooke was not interested in drawing, but quickly realized that creativity is not necessarily something applied. So the search for unique products has become her own special kind of creativity, and marketing research and communication with customers only kindled her potential.

The most unusual works of their family online store are compositions of natural materials created by Vicki. It is noteworthy that even the contour lines are created of twigs — no graphic additions. Vicki often portrays famous women, strong and inspiring, such as Iris Apfel or Ruth Bader Ginsburg, but there are especially many portraits of Frida Kahlo.

And sometimes Vicki's works are just romantic images of girls (or they are also well-known characters, but I don't know them):

Sometimes there are landscapes or even family sketches:

It is very interesting to look at the process of creating such portraits, to see the first touches or admire the flower scattering:

My favorite portraits are of a girl with a coffee cup:

And this portrait is made from the back, for all its brevity it surprisingly conveys the mood:

Would you like to see yourself in a similar way? Or did you try to make something with the help of natural materials?
