DIY Christmas Decors of Fabric and Felt

Today I want to show you a few ideas of fabric Christmas decors. I was inspired by traditional Scandinavian motifs, although I think that the resulting decor is too bright for the Scandinavian style :)

I saw reindeer and Christmas trees in a famous store, and immediately decided that I have to make the same :) Gnomes are an indispensable attribute of New Year in the Nordic countries, I've seen a variety of them, I will make the simplest version, with almost no sewing, and other complex manipulations, but I will have to tinker with a cap. And finally, from the felt which was left I made a mobile with the numbers 2019.

To make a Christmas tomte gnome (or nisse) you will need:

- an old pair of beige tights;

- any grains;

- fabric for the body and cap;

- fluffy yarn or a piece of fur.

To make Christmas trees you will need:

- a sheet of extruded polystyrene, it is insulation which is sold in hardware stores;

- cut wood;

- straight branches for the trunks;

- felt for the petals.

Or you can make a foam cone bases and do not make a stand, or replace wood with small pots, put sticks in them and pour gypsum or alabaster.

To make the reindeer you will need:

- fabric for the body;

- padding polyester or holofiber for filling;

- twigs for the horns;

- a small cone for the tail;

- brown, beige or red felt or fabric for wrapping the feet;

- hard wire or wire for the base of the feet;

- ribbon in a contrasting color to make the scarf.

For making the 2019 lettering you will need:

- scraps of felt for the wreath;

- cones, berries or small pom-poms and ribbon to decorate the wreath;

- wire for the frames;

- dry twigs for the numbers 2, 1, 9;

- a large branch and twine for hanging.
