How to Make a Box for Christmas Toys

The most magical holiday of the year is just in a month.
And to make it even a little more beautiful, I have prepared for you a small tutorial.
I hope it will be useful to you.

Materials:

  • a cardboard box (e.g. a shoe box);
  • a synthetic brush;
  • acrylic lacquer;
  • superglue;
  • glue for decoupage on fabric;
  • denim;
  • self-adhesive paper;
  • white paint for fabric;
  • a layout with a Christmas motif;
  • trim, lace;
  • construction white glue.

Start working:

1) Measure the internal dimensions of the box (in my case it's a shoebox). Draw on the reverse side of adhesive paper the layout of the box and the lid.
2) Cut out the resulting details. Gently process the points of bends with a ruler. Glue the box from the inside. Instead of adhesive paper you can use wrapping paper, cardboard, felt or something else to your taste.

3) Take two pieces of denim (I have old jeans of my husband). Cut out the parts of the lid and the box, not forgetting about the allowances. Glue the denim details to the box with construction white glue, hiding the edges of the adhesive paper under the fabric.
Decorate the connection points of denim and adhesive paper with trim or lace using superglue.

4) Cut/rip out a motif from a layout. Remove the top layer.
Outline the place for the motif on the lid, prime it with white paint for fabric.

5) Glue the motif with decoupage glue for textile. Wait for drying, cover it with a layer of acrylic lacquer.

6) Decorate the box with trim and lace.

Admire the result!
