Today I propose to create an unusual toy on a Christmas tree out of wool... and glass! Here is an interesting combination. Shall we start?

We will need:

• A light bulb of a small size. Yes, a simple light bulb!
• Wool for felting. I use undyed Grubu wool for the base and colored carded wool for decoration. Colors: grey, white, some red and black.
• Felt. I have red felt. Take felt of minimum thickness.
• Beads for eyes.
• Transparent fishing line.
• Tools: a felting needle, a mat, a sewing needle, superglue, scissors, a screwdriver.

1. Prepare the light bulb. With a screwdriver and scissors clean the bulb from the "inside" parts. On the Internet you can find lots of videos on how to do it gently. Be careful and use eye protection.

2. Start felting! Felt a template for the bear's head, using undyed wool. To do this, tear off a small piece of tape, roll up a loose ball, make a few punctures with a needle to secure the wool.

Important! The workpiece should NOT be dense.

3. Press the workpiece to the base of the bulb and continue felting. Put the needle slightly at an angle so that it doesn't broke because of the metal part of the bulb.

4. You should get the piece with a recess under the metal part of the bulb.

5. Begin felting the bear's ears. Separate two pieces of gray carded wool (or any other color you want to use). Twist two semi-circular blanks and process them with a needle.

Important! Leave one tip of the ear fluffy — it will be easier to attach it to the head.

6. Felt ears to the bear's head. To do that puff the tip of the ear blank even more and tightly clutching the ear to the head, process with a needle the junction point. Do the same with the second ear. In the center of each ear add a bit of white wool.

7. Add grey wool on the entire surface of the head. Work with a needle to a dense state. However, save the form and the deepening!

8. Now felt a heart. It should be of a size to fit into the light bulb. Take two small pieces of red carded wool, twist two parts in the model of the feet. Put one detail on another to make a heart shape. Work with a needle to a dense state.

9. Prepare the heart for placing it inside the bulb. Use a needle and clear fishing line to stitch the felt heart.

10. Place the felt heart on a fishing line inside the bulb. Attach the bear's head to the lightbulb to see how far you should fix the line. Sew the bear's head so that the heart is located approximately in the center of the bulb or higher. Sew the head again to make a large loop for hanging the toy on a tree.

Glue the head to the metal part of the bulb.

11. Form a muzzle of white carded wool. Take a small piece of wool and twist a tight ball. Attach it slightly above the center of the head, firmly press it with your fingers and process with a needle. First, process the contour of the muzzle, and then the entire surface.

12. Complete the muzzle. Add a small pea of black wool just above the center of the muzzle — this will be the nose. Felt a little wool stripe, placing it vertically to the nose.

13. Start felting the legs. Felt the upper legs on the same principle as the ears. However, the details should be a little longer. Attach them to the body-bulb in the process of felting to understand whether they are appropriate in size.

14. Felt another solid detail for the bottom legs as pictured. It must be approximately of the same length as two upper legs.

Important! The details must be thick enough.

15. Felt the upper legs to the bear's head. Slightly process them with a needle along the entire length to make a bend in the form of the body.

16. Secure the bottom legs with glue. To fix the detail properly, you must felt it tightly.

17. Cut a strip of felt of the appropriate size to make a scarf. We will hide the attachment point of the upper legs with it.

18. Glue the beads — the eyes. The bear is ready!

According to this principle, you can create other animals — birds, pigs, seals and many others!
