Night sky, stars, galaxies...11 photos by the winners of the astrophotography competition, which is held every year in Britain by the Royal Museums Greenwich together with the BBC Sky at Night magazine and the Insight company. Professionals and amateurs submitted pictures taken in different parts of our planet with highly sensitive cameras and telescopes.

Nicolas Lefaudeux is an optical engineer, physicist, mathematician. His photo of the Sun, according to the jury, was the best in this category. It is named "Sun King, Little King and God of War".

Stephen Mohr, Shooting Galaxies category. The photo is named "Mysterious Galaxy".

Goldpaint, a professional photographer. People and Space category and the Grand Prix of the contest. This photo is named "Transport the Soul".

Jordi Delpeix Borrell. The boundary between the Moon's Sea of Tranquility and the Sea of Serenity with inverted colors — the best photo of the moon this year.

Tianhong Li. The picture shows the landscape of the Inner Mongolia with the radioheliograph designed to study the Sun. The name of the photo is "Galaxy Curtain Call".

Fabian Dalpiaz became the best young photographer in his age category.
