Today we will learn how to make an amazing, delicate and wonderful piece of cold porcelain that will cheer you up in cold autumn, reminding you about warm spring and a garden of fragrant roses :) Brooches and earrings look especially good made of cold porcelain as this material is less fragile and more resistant to external environmental influences. Jewelry made of it is especially elegant :)

You will need:

1) cold porcelain (you can use self-hardening clay, but then the brooch will be more fragile);

2) wire 0,55 mm;

3) pliers;

4) plastic film;

5) scissors;

6) a set of oil or acrylic paints (you will need a dark green "Viridian green", "red" and "yellow" paints);

7) latex glue and a brush for it;

8) disposable gloves;

9) a piece of foam rubber for drying the product;

10) clear gel glue;

11) cutters for leaves and petals (you can replace them with a small sharp knife);

12) a rolling pin;

13) a mold for a rose leaf;

14) a piece of tape;

15) hardware for brooches.

You won't need special skills to make this brooch, you can replace most special tools with what you have. You will need some dexterity as porcelain dries quickly in the air and becomes unsuitable for molding.

So, let's start.

Cut the wire into several unequal parts – three parts of 7 cm for roses and buds, one part of 8 cm and two parts of 3 cm for the rose leaf, and two parts of 3-4 cm for large rose leaves.

Make a loop on three wires for flowers using pliers.

Take cold porcelain, roll a drop and put it on the wire, fix it. Do likewise with each of the three wires for the roses, but make smaller drops for two buds. Let the blanks dry for at least an hour. In the meantime, make the leaves.

Put green oil paint in a piece of cold porcelain. Put the resulting green ball under the plastic wrap and roll it out thinly with a rolling pin.

Then, with the help of a cutter (or a knife) cut the future leaf. Now you have to shape it — do this with a mold of a leaf, the veins will appear on it and the leaf will look like a real one.

Take the gel glue and wire, dip one of its end in glue and glue it to the rose leaf, pressing a bit.

Do the same with other leaves, do not forget that all leaves are of different size! So make one extra leaf of a medium size for fixing the hardware for brooches. Let them dry for one hour.

When the leaves are dried, make a small young rose leaf. To do this we need a piece of tape and three small previously made leaves.

Use pliers to bend the two sides of leaves under the desired angle and wrap them with tape, previously attached to the wire with gel glue.

Our leaf is ready!

Make the rose buds. Take a blank for the main big rose, put a drop of red paint and a little drop of yellow oil paint into cold porcelain.

Roll out the resulting color with a rolling pin under the plastic wrap. Take the cutter for a rose petal (or a knife) and cut the first little petal. Using the stack (or any brush) roll out the thin edge of the petal.

Lubricate the blank with latex glue and put a glue drop on the base of the petal (which is thicker, not rolled) and attach the petal to the blank so that it is 5-6 mm above the workpiece. Fix it.

Do the same with the next small petal, gluing it 1 mm above the previous one.

Similarly, glue 6 small petals overlapping them and forming the center of the rose. Let the glue dry for at least an hour.

Meanwhile let's make buds. Similar to the previous steps cut little petals, roll out thinly the ends of the petals. The first is glued 5-6 mm above the base, the rest must overlap 1 mm above each of the following.

Each bud is made of 5-6 petals. The last petal can be bent a little on two sides for realism. That's what we get:

Make two buds of approximately the same size like this.

Now back to the big rose. Take a cutter for the middle rose petal and cut out the 7th petal of cold porcelain. Roll out the edges, spread the base with glue and fix the last petal on the rose, overlapping.

The petal should cover the entire distance from the base of the rosebud to the end of the petals, the base shouldn't be seen. You should also bend both sides of these middle petals for realism when making the opened bud.

In this way glue 6-7 middle petals. Glue all of them on a par with the rest overlapping with each other. And get a fully opened rose.

Let it dry for 2-3 hours. And let's go back to the buds. Roll out a piece of green cold porcelain and make a sepal with scissors.

Roll it out with a stack and make cuts at the edges to make it natural.

The base of the bud is coated with latex glue. Put the sepal through. Fix it with glue on the bud.

Here's what we get:

Roll a small ball of green cold porcelain and glue it to the base of the bud, carefully fixing it with a stack. We have a finished bud:

Make five sepals on the opened rose, rolling each of them separately of green cold porcelain drops.

Make cuts at the ends of the sepals, they will look more naturally. Fix them to the basis of the rose with latex glue.

The final touch — put a tiny drop at the base and the rose is ready!

Be sure to dry all the products made of cold porcelain (polymer clay) for 24 hours before assembling the brooch! Otherwise, you can ruin all the work.

Now proceed to the last step — assemble the brooch and glue hardware.

Attatch the elements, buds and leaves, together with a tape, bending wire with pliers.

The remaining wire must be tightly wrapped with tape and bent on the wrong side. We form the stem of the rose.

Do not forget that the reverse side also has to look beautiful! :)

Glue an additional leaf of cold porcelain with gel glue on the reverse side, let it dry and then glue hardware to the brooch.

In addition to hardware for a brooch you can also optionally glue a clip — so you can use your brooch as a hair clip!
