Tip 1

You are tired of your favorite photo background, and the sill does not satisfy your creative impulses? Use a laptop! Access to millions of cool photos with one click is ensured...

Tip 2

...and then the second life hack: put a mirror on the keyboard to hide the traces of tricks and get an interesting reflection effect. The same effect can be achieved in a lightbox, if you put on the bottom a piece of plexiglas.

Tip 3

This technique was told by the professional photographer Valery Klopotsky: "If the flash is not built in and is separated from the camera, and it turns, you can turn it out and direct on a reflector. A sheet of Whatman paper or a piece of white foam will be a great reflector. This option gives a volumetric light pattern with a diffused shadow."

Tip 4

Photos with hands seem to me more alive and warm. Looking at this photo, you can imagine how it the toy will look like in the hands of your child, friend, sister. By the way, if you make ceramic cups, these photos are a must-have, your hands (or someone else's hands) holding a beautiful ceramic cup and it has steaming hot tea or seductive foamed milk... How can you not buy such a beauty?" — recommends Eugene Art. And we totally agree with her!

Tip 5

Take an ordinary plastic bag and wrap the camera lens with it. Lubricate the edges of the lens with vaseline on top of the package and get a beautiful soft effect of the blurred edges!

Tip 6

"It was an accident so that the floor lamp had a lamp with a warm light and the work lamp — with cold light. Suddenly this combination of lighting made very natural, not yellow colors on the photo," — shares her secret the artisan Marina Flame-ART. It is definitely worth a try!

Tip 7

About the light again: there must be several sources of light. "A lamp in the room and natural light from windows can also be considered sources of light. I have the following: the window on the left, the chandelier on the right, a table lamp in the front, a long lamp at the top", — tells Galina Dietrich.

Tip 8

How to make a composition? Irina Matveeva told us a great lifehack: "It is necessary to balance the color spots on the overall picture. To understand, you can squint and look at the photos: so it becomes clear what part of the picture is visually heavier or lighter. For example, if the bottom is light and the top is dark, visually the top will push and seem harder".

Tip 9

Use a cardboard "sleeve" for cups for coffee to protect the lens and photos from the bright sun. And if you take a plastic cup, you can also hide from the rain.

Tip 10

"A look behind the scenes" — a cool trick suggested by Tatiana Kruk for photo shoots with models: "It helps to create the impression that the model looks at something while shooting. Involuntarily the spectator's gaze is directed in the same direction, and the imagination tries to come up with the idea of what is the model looking at."

Tip 11

A tip from Olga Cucurbi especially for those who prefer shooting on phone cameras: "Many people wonder how to achieve the blur when I take photos with a phone. It is very simple! Select the shadow area for shooting, move the subject away from the background and make the shot. The camera of the phone will determine that there is a little light, and focus on the subject and the background will be blurred".

Tip 12

Properly structured light makes wonders, especially if we are talking about shooting clothing and fabrics. A good example from Elena Ashurkova: "To emphasize the grain, set a side light; to smooth out the disadvantages set a direct perpendicular light."

In this picture the lighting is from the side.

In this picture the lighting is direct.

Back lighting in the left photo and direct lighting in the right photo.

Tip 13

White balance — another important point which determines the correct transmission of color. "To make an ideal white balance in your photo, place something pure white in a photo. So you will get a standard, which will help with working with photo editors," — recommends Elena Ashurkova. Using this method, you will also show your buyers how the work looks in different lighting.

Tip 14

"To avoid dense shadows use a diffuse filter: wrap the window of the flash with white masking tape or a white package. The surface of the object will be evenly and softly lighted and it won't reflect the bright light source," — recommends Marina Nikitina.

Tip 15

A sheet of paper, a window and the sunlight instead of a lightbox — what can be easier? ;)
