Recently, while surfing the Internet, I met these stunning thimbles. My grandmother has only two of them: a simple one and a "parade" one, with filigree and enamel, of silver. So I have never come up with the idea that a thimble can be a miniature work of art. In this post you will notice that I was very wrong.

With some perspective, it was a thing which was used by absolutely everyone: from the rich to the very poor. And, of course, human nature strives to be beautiful, regardless of financial capabilities.

They were made of different materials, decorated with mother-of-pearl, precious stones and enamel with paintings.

This publication presents not only thimbles, there are also charming sets for sewing :)

And the title is justified by the old belief that a thimble in your pocket will bring you good luck :)
