Magical Miniatures of the Famous 17th-Century Dollhouse

When I was a little girl, I collected boxes. Candy or shoes boxes and so on. They were a real celebration: I made doll's houses from all these boxes. Sewed blankets and pillows, and little residents. too. I could spend hours in my little-boxed world.

And here I am, now, being already not a little girl, often look at miniature houses with miniature furniture that here in Holland are much loved for some reason. The first time I saw the dream of my life in the Rijksmuseum Museum in Amsterdam. It turned out that very rich ladies often ordered such houses. Poppenhuis, which means 'a dollhouse', was a real copy of a home with all sorts of things: mini cups, plates, silverware (real silver, of course), linen tablecloths and napkins, cupboards. All made with fascinating details!
