Today I will show you a tutorial on creating the espadrilles. These shoes are perfect for the summer.

You need:

  • Prym soles
  • thick fabric (denim) 20 cm by 112-150 cm
  • cotton (for lining) 20 cm by 112-150 cm
  • fusible webbing
  • linen cord, 4 m
  • needle with a large eye
  • scissors
  • threads
  • pins

Let's start:

Transfer the pattern to the cotton, to denim with 1 cm allowances.

Make a pattern for bows, 26 cm by 10 cm, transfer it and cut out.

Iron the fusible webbing to the cotton and denim pieces only.

Put all the detail face to face, fix with pins and stitch them together:

Iron:

Make cuts before turning the blank outside in:

You get such blanks, see where the 3-4 cm holes for turning are left:

Iron all. Cut off all seam allowances and edges of the main part, make notches at smooth sides.

Sew all holes:

And start assembling the parts:

Fix the upper part to the sole:

I used pliers to pass the needle through the sole:

Use the blanket stitch:

This is what you get at the end :)

Ready!

I love that I have done it!
I wish you success, too! Comment, like, ask questions if you have any :)
