Sculpring a Sprig of Black Currant out of Cold Porcelain

Summer... country house... and, of course, black currant in the garden! Such beautiful and delicious berries you can't help modelling!

Get down to business! Take:

1) the main stack;

2) a stack with balls (smallest);

3) nail scissors;

4) clay (I use Thai clay only);

5) leaf mold but better take a live leaf from the bush;

6) latex or PVA glue;

7) wire 26;

8) round-nose pliers;

9) tape;

10) paint thinner for oil paints;

11) oil paints: Herbal, Medium Yellow (any yellow), Carmine or Madder Lake Red, Mars Black (or any black), Titanium White, any blue;

12) brushes.

Not in the picture, but also useful:

13) tweezers;

14) brown fluffy powder.

First, make blanks for berries:

Make polymer clay any colour you need by adding oil paints and kneading in a piece of film:

Make leaves:

Apply a slightly convex shape.

Add twigs:

Move on to berries:

Make the colour you need for the tails:

Let the berries dry and start shading them:

To make the berries shine, covered them with latex glue:

Collect the berries and leaves in a twig.

You can compare the clay and live twigs :)
