Brooches Embroidered with Irish Landscapes by Eveline de Lange

Eveline de Lange lives in a rural area of County Galway in Ireland. She writes, 'When I came here, I was always going through the fields and was struck by the stillness and calmness of these lands. Endless flat fields, dotted with trees, grazing sheep and horses and roads that scatter and no cars, no people. And the only thing you hear is the wind. I tried to recreate this experience in embroidery — how you touch these lands with your feelings.'

She works with very fine silk thread and strong cotton cloth. The embroidery is done in several layers to convey depth and make the landscape voluminous. Therefore, the process takes about 15 hours anв one gets a 5x3.5 cm jewellery.
