The Studio's founder Keiji Tagawa was born in Tokyo. After graduating from the Meiji University, he started working in the garment industry. He's smashed at fashion after leaving the first job and founded TILIA CO., LTD in 1989. He also opened his own school of embroidery — Embroidery Tilia Studio — in 1996. This idea was warmly supported by many women who wanted to learn the art of embroidery. In 2005, he released his new Tilia Jewelry collection.
