The Art of Voluminous Embroidery by Kay and Michael Dennis
  • Category: Ideas & Inspiration
  • Practices: Needlework

Kay and Michael Dennis are a wife and a husband from the UK, famous craftspeople of stumpwork and needlelace. They work together for a long time.
Kay learned the basic steps of embroidery in her early childhood, studied it for many years and then taught other people. Michael took on the role of the Chairman of the Embroiderers' Guild in 2011 and since then have learned this technique. The family lives and works in the leafy suburbs of London in the faraway countryside of Hertfordshire and Middlesex. Nature is a source of inspiration for many of Kay's embroideries. The stumpwork embroidery enables her to combine embroidery and weaving. Kay wrote three books devoted to her craft.
