Creating a Rose in Dry and Wet Felting Techniques

Today I want to offer you a DIY on felting beautiful roses — you'll learn two techniques this time.

All you need is:

1. 18 microns Merino wool (Shell colour).

2. Silk Toussaint fibers, several shades of one colour (I used Lace, Shell, Sand, White).

3. Brush for felting.

4. Needles for felting.

5. Film, water, soap.
Let's go :)

My rose will have six leys. But you can make from 5 to 10 depending on the size you want.

1. Pull a ley of medium thickness:

2. Cover it with a Toussaint silk ley.

3. Fold and shape.

4. Then felt it slightly on the brush, give it the shape of a petal.

5. Make the rest of the petals, but each next petal should be a little bigger and lighter.

6. Here's the result:

7. Wet felt them, wet and soap them, rub:

8. Roll:

9. Rub again in your hands:

Make the petals as thin as possible, but not much.

10. Wash, dry and steam iron the workpieces.

11.Now, begin assembling the flower. Fix the bottom with treads:

12. Add petals by one

13. The result is such a rose from which you can make, for example, a brooch.

Or decorate a purse:

Share your options how else to use them.

I hope, the DIY was interesting and helpful!

Thank you for your attention. Wish you creative successes and good mood!

Sincerely yours,
Natalia
