So, what do you need?

• model
• plaster
• tools
• clay
• a separating mixture
• cardboard for formwork
• plastering cup

First of all, find out how many pieces of a plaster mould you need. The best option is just two — mark it out right on the plasticine model:

I needed a four-pieces mould because the neck required a complex lock.

Lay the clay pieces around, then smooth them:

Note: the seam need to be as careful as you can to meet the model at the right angle and it should closely touch the model.

Construct the formwork and pour plaster.

Remove all plasticine.

When all clay is removed, spread the separating mixture onto the surface because plaster attaches to plaster really well.

Make the framework out of clay and cardboard:

Pour plaster:

I didn't wait until complete drying of plaster, removed the frameworks and cut the mould the way I needed it to be:

Semi-dried plaster is easily cut with a knife and smoothed with a spatula.

Remember to make grooves:

The final step: make a formwork and pour plaster for the last piece:

Now, make chamfers, wait until the plaster dries and open the mould and remove the model.
