Video DIY: Drawing a Christmas Fire in the Winter Woods with Dry Pastel

A fire in the forest. Starry night. Moonlight. Silence! Only logs are crackling, and sparks are flying far to the stars... I'm gonna show you today how to paint this incredible landscape with dry pastel crayons.

You need:

  • ordinary waterproof sandpaper, grit 1000
  • Rembrandt crayon set of 120 halves

Note: Don't spray fixatives on sandpaper after the work is done. Sandpaper can't stand it and covers with stains, the colours change.

So I really don't fix sketches!

P.S. Pastel's afraid of mechanical damage, but once put under glass, it will delight you for many years. And will serve as a wonderful gift!
If you're planning to keep it, then cover your work with tracing paper or transparent file and put in a folder.
Wish you much inspiration and a nice watching!
