Sculpting and Decorating a King Night Relief on a Cup

Winter is coming. All fans of The Game of Thrones know this, just like its true winter character — King Night. I think it would be great to decorate a cup with its relief image.
Sand the surface you want to decorate.

Degrease the surface and apply several layers of paint for ceramics. I used turquoise with nacre. It gives an ice effect.

Dry for a couple hours. You can speed up this process with a hair dryer.

Start sculpting. You need:
- polymer clay, better (half)transparent
- cool colours (blue, purple, grey)
- two beads for eyes
- a small stick
- talc or baby powder

This is the first step:

Make the basic elements of the face: forehead, nose, mouth, chin and cheekbones.

Join these pieces, add an Icecrown.

Continue working on the face:

Here's what I got at the end:

Put it in the oven and bake according to the instructions of the polymer clay. If the relief falls, stick it with coating.

Now paint. Use a dark colour for the base. Add blue for the night flame.

Paint the eyes:

The base colour is applied. Dry.

To imitate the effect of cracked ice on the skin, use craquelure. Apply a layer of the varnish, let it dry, and then white glossy paint over.

Here's the effect, the dark base is seen practically immediately:

Apply fluorescent paint on the eyes and mouth:

Apply 3-4 layers of varnish with a drop of blue and grey paint.

And you get this thrilling amazing mug! :)
