It seems like a true era of embroidery has come. Floss and beads haven't caused such a resonance and the storm of emotions for ages! Embroidered surface is now wanted everywhere: on a bedroom wall framed with a wooden hoop, on the flap of a handbag, on shoes and hats, brooches and earrings. The love for picturesque stitches on clothes has blossomed — this difficult but exciting task has become a passion of young designer Lisa Smirnova. Her works tempt to get a couple of square inches of Luneville embroidery or French knots on a dress. Lisa also creates illustration, watercolour and sketches.

Today I offer to admire the result of her bright and cute project — a collaboration with designer of eco clothing Olya Glagoleva. For their Artist At Home collection various materials were used: cashmere, hemp, cotton, denim, vintage towels straight from Portobello Road and blankets from flea markets of Wales. All because of the Artist At Home idea — to show an artist's life in his beloved workshop and at home. Each garment took about one hundred hours of work and is made in a single copy, neatly packed in a box of recycled wood and provided with a booklet about the process of creating.
