Knitting A Sleeve Shawl — Unusual and Adorable Winter Accessory

Such a model should be better knitted of mohair that has long fluffy fibres, they make an item airy, light and warm. Perfect for cold weather. The sleeve shawl is made easily.

Techniques:

  • stockinette stitch
  • cable stitch

Materials:

  • Italian mohair
  • needles 3 mm

Begin with knitting the cuff, pick 40 loops, distribute by 10 stitches on each of 4 needles and knit rib 1x1 the cuff height (any you like).

My cuff was 8 cm.

Slip in the last row after each loop and take circular needles. Thus, there are twice more loops on the needles — 80. Then distribute the loop this way:

Row 1
32 purl stitches
16 knit for cable stitches
32 purl stitches
Row 2
32 knit stitches
16 purl stitches
32 knit stitches
Row 3
Knit it.
Row 4
Purl it.
Row 5
32 purl stitches
8 knit stitches are crossed left (8 knit stitches are cast on an additional needle and left in front of the work, knit 8 stitches from the main needle, then knit 8 stitches from the additional needle)
32 purl stitches

Then knit according to the pattern:
6 rows
32 purl stitches
16 knit stitches
32 purl stitches

6 more rows
32 knit stitches
16 purl stitches
32 knit stitches

Crisscross loop in the next knit row. Thus, knit the entire length of the sleeve.

As just the sleeve is ready, knit the back without cable, in other words, all knit rows have purl loops, all purl rows have knit loops.

Knit the width of the back and reach the second sleeve, again distribute the loops:

32 purl stitches
16 knit stitches
32 purl stitches

The second sleeve is knitted vice versa.

As soon as the entire length of the sleeve is completed, decrease the loops, knit two loops together and take double pointed needles (each needle has by 10 loops), finish the second cuff, cast off the loops.

Sew the sleeves with a kitchener stitch up to the desired length.

The outer side of the sleeve looks like this:

A tender, warm and beautiful accessory is ready!

Can be worn with a blouse or dress.

I wish everyone good mood and much inspiration! :)
