Leaves and Needles: Eco Embroidery by Hillary Fayle

Is it easy to see beauty in an ordinary blade of grass? Can a man coexist with nature in harmony — and how? These questions have been raises by American artist Hillary Fayle, and she found her answer in the form of wonderful embroideries on green leaves. She graduated from three universities — in Manchester, Buffalo and Virginia — where studied arts, crafts and textiles in particular. But the wish to turn to environmental problems never left, and one day, Hillary found a way to express the relationship in simple threads and needles. Hillary Fayle followed the natural shapes of tree leaves, embellish them and created intricate and elegant architecture of stitches. By the way, her embroidery is combined with special green lace canvas that are pre-cut with veins untouched. This is how, from the artist's point of view, the image of a perfect symbiosis looks like:
