The Famous Multi Expensive and Gorgeous Astolat Dollhouse

Astolat Dollhouse was created in 1974-1987 by Elaine Diehl, a miniaturist from Colorado. Its estimated cost is more than $8.5 million and is privately owned since 1996. To assemble the castle, 2 days and 12 men are required. The dollhouse has 7 levels with 29 rooms. The lighting system is daytime and nighttime and is changed automatically. The height is 274 cm, the weight may vary from 370 to 494 pounds depending on what furniture is inside — 10 000 valuable miniatures are in use and 30 000 total! The furnishing represents several historical periods and styles. A large part of the furnishing are original items purchased at auctions from private collectors, many miniatures are more expensive than their full-size counterparts! Bottles in the bar contain real liquor :) The castle has a copper roof and bearing walls of wood. Some walls can be removed for viewing.

An extensive collection of extravagant castle includes furniture, working fireplaces, stained glass, framed mirrors, sculptures, stone vases, Golden chandeliers, parquet floors, carved wood panels, tapestries, oil paintings — reproductions of famous masterpieces, fine carpets and fabrics, silverware, cookware sets, inlaid bathrooms. There is even a "wizard tower", equipped with telescopes!

Significantly, public exhibitions of the castle allow to raise money for children's charities.
