Breaking Stereotypes about Dragons: Illustrations by Brian Kesinger

Brian Kesinger is an American Illustrator and animator working at Walt Disney for more than 20 years. Born in a family of musicians, he was the only one who couldn't play a musical instrument. But seeing a craving to draw, his parents supported the boy. At the age of 18, Brian became the youngest animator in the history at the Walt Disney company, and today he has many awards and prizes. His most famous characters are lady Victoria and her octopus Otto. Brian says he loves drawing octopus. And this specific plasticity is seen in his dragons, too.

'Dragons are usually depicted as evil creatures guarding a treasure, but I wanted to break the stereotypes and to delve more deeply into different characters. Regarding the style, I wanted to use old fashioned classic illustrations, like if they were quickly sketched in some diary of a traveler and researcher,' writes Brian.
