Richard Schmid was born in Chicago in 1934. He started studying human anatomy at twelve and had great teachers throughout his life. A winner of many awards and prizes, he was awarded a gold medal by the Society of Portrait Painters of America. He is also the author of several books and video lessons. He currently lives in southern Vermont with his talented wife Nancy Guzik in a quiet place with perfect conditions for painting. So, here we go:
