Today I would like to talk about jewelry for the neck. Rather, its types and the basic rules of wearing.

TYPES OF NECKLACES, COLLIERS AND BEADS ACCORDING TO LENGTH:

30-35 cm — collar

35-40 cm — choker

40-50 cm — princess

50-60 cm — matinee

60-90 cm — opera

over 90 cm — rope

We need to remember:

Necklaces, colliers and beads are made in the type of collar and choker.

Princess necklaces are made very rarely.

As for matinee, colliers of this length are not produced, and necklaces are sometimes manufactured.

Opera or rope types are used for beads only.

TYPES OF NECKLACES, NECKLACES AND BEADS IN APPEARANCE:

There are othe additional types of the jewelries by appearance: riviera, the clasp, sclavi, plastron.

Riviera — a kind of necklaces that has the same or similar stones connected so that you will not see the points and creates the illusion of a flowing stream of the river. This is a very beautiful decoration and appropriate only with an evening outfit.

Clasp collier — a necklace where the clasp is on the front and is the main decoration.

Esclavage necklace consists of chains that form a strip which fixes precious stones or beads. An esclavage collier consists of strips of fabric which fixes gems. The pendant lies in the cleavage.

Bib necklace — a voluminous jewelry that covers the neck and the most part of the chest.
