In this tutorial I show how one can rather quickly perform graceful earrings from available materials. This DIY is especially useful for beginners :)

You need the following materials and tools:

• oval cabochons 14x10mm, 2 pcs
• briolettes length 10-12mm, 2 pcs
• Miyuki 15/0 beads, colours:
  - Bright Silver 961
  - Palladium - Plated 194
  - Nickel 190 (or Toho Nickel)
  - beads matching the color of the cabochons (I used Beige color-lined 2195)

• hard grey felt as the base for embroidery
• white Lacy Stiff Stuff or felt as an underlay for transparent cabochons
• leather (I had silver and grey)
• connector findings Tierra Cast Empire style, antique silver, 2 pcs
• earring fixtures Tierra Cast with an eyelet
• connecting rings 4 mm, 4 pieces
• transparent Moment glue gel
• Moment Crystal glue or rubber
• needle 12 or 15
• Fireline, thickness 0.1 mm, smoky for the entire embroidery
• half-round nose pliers

Step 1. Embroidery with silver beadings looks good on a grey base. A transparent cabachones often require white underlay:

a) Glue white oval felt or Lacy in the center of the gray felt.

b) attach the cabochon on the white oval with transparent glue.

Step 2. Sew the cabachone round with beads of 3 colours:

a) the first row with the darkest beads, choose the longest, embroider tightly;

b) the number of the beads must be even. At the end of the row, pass the needle through the first bead;

in) row 2 is made with lighter beads;

g) row 3 must be even lighter. Since the cabochon is gradually narrowed, the size of the beads should be reduced from row to row;

d) the next two row is even more lighter;

e) if it appears that the top row isn't tight enough, perform one more. Pass the thread througgh the embroidery to the felt and fix the thread.

Step 3. Follow the outline and cut off the edge:

a) sew the cabochon round with beads matching its colour (brown). Pass the thread to the backside and fasten, do not cut;

b) carefully cut it out of the felt close to the embroidery. Be careful not to damage the threads!

Step 4. Glue the underlay to the embroidery:

a) to make the back of the earrings smooth, it is desirable to glue thickener, it should be less than 2 mm from the edge on each side;

b) glue it all on a piece of leather, seam allowance of 5 mm is enough. Cut off the leather with sharp fine scissors leaving a seam allowance of 1-2 mm;

Step 5. Embroider the edge with beads of medium or dark tones with an over stitch:

a) needle all layers, pick by two beadseach time;

b) reaching the middle of the stone on the narrow side, sew an earring fixture with a loop of five beads;

C) pass it 2-3 times and make sure that the loop is well tightened. Continue thee embroidery;

d) when you reach the point of attachment of the connector, make a loop of five beads. Tighten the thread;

d) continue to embroider. Once you reach the point symmetric to point D, make another loop. And continue;

e) when you reached the first bead, fix the thread at the first stitch. Hide the thread inside the embroidery and cut off.

Step 6. Sew the briolette to the connector with an "eight" loop of beads of medium or dark tones. Pass it twice, tighten the thread, tie a strong knot, pass each end through the bead, cut off the thread.

Step 7. Attach the connector to the loops using the connecting rings and the pliers.

Step 8. Make the second earring using steps 1-7 and enjoy the result of your work :)
