Creating a Little Sparrow Brooch

I make these sparrows quite often but I have no time to take a photo of one because they are sold quickly.

It takes me 1 hour to make one and I want to share the idea with you.

So:

Before making anything, draw a few sketches to understand how it works.
A general advice. As the entry.

You need the following materials and tools:
- wool (preferably carded) harsh or white, light brown and dark brown
- needles for felting with a direct (I use with a star four-sided tip) and reverse course
- sponge
- monofilament (or ordinary thread) and needle
- small pin
- two glossy black beads for eyes

Another necessary detail that you need to prepare in advance is the beak!
From black polymer clay, make a tiny cone with a hole for sewing and bake, as usual.

Everything is prepared.
First, make the body of the Sparrow. White wool is rolled into a ball and wrapped in light brown. This way.

And felt with the needle, forming a teardrop and slightly curved shape.

Wide side is the head, narrow — the tail. Leave one third of the length of the torso with the needle to make the groove - mark the head.

Well, now you can sew on the beak and eyes. The thread is fixed on the back of a sparrow.

Every stitch is threaded through the back, all the details are a little pulled into the head, each time fixing the thread on the back.
Here's the face.

Now make the wings: take two small pieces of dark brown wool, mix in there at least one other colour (grey or black).
Felt with the needle on the sponge with one hand - turn - felt the other.

Here are the flat blanks.

Now we need to felt the fluffy edges to give the wings the desired shape.

Here is it.

Now make a tail. Similarly.

Felt the wings on the sides and back, so that one edge was free.

Felt the tail.

That's what comes out.

Now my most favourite moment is pulling out the down on the bottom. Take the needle and take out the inner white wool ))

It turned out very fluffy, but wool then crushes a bit, just as it should.

To make the face more expressive I make such dark stripes from the beak to the nape, but you can not do without them, the sparrow will look just a baby bird (especially if you pull out white gun on the back ))

And now the sparrow is ready! )))

To wear it as a brooch, felt a blank for the pin.

Then apply the pin on a side.

Put the felted piece over and felt all together to fix.

And... Hurray! Yay! Our Sparrow Brooch is ready!
It is possible to attach it to your cirtains at home.

You can walk with it and feed with bread crumbs :)

Or put in a paper bag with a window and to give to loved ones :)

And best of all is to pin it on and walk to improve mood :)

Thank you, friends, for your attention!
