Making an Apple Jewellery Box in Vintage Style

Each time when photographing my items, I'm going to add something special... And today I decided to create an authentic things — a small box in the shape of an apple in vintage style.

Materials and Tools

1. Apple box.

2. Acrylic prime paint (burnt umber), acrylic prime paint (white almond), metallic paint (golden).

3. Mat Poly-P varnish.

4. Sandpaper.

5. Stamper wax.

These boxes are always so smooth and good, so I just paint them burnt umber.

After painting, leave to dry for 1 hour. Put on a windowsill.

After the paint has dried, sandpaper a little bit and paint with the second layer of white almond.

Here's what happened:

Leave it to dry for 15-20 minutes, paint has to dry, but be "fresh" be peeled off a little. So sandpaper slightly.

The main thing is to stop in time.

Then varnish it in 2 layers with intermediate drying with a hairdryer. I usually don't use my hairdryer, but in this case I had no printouts, napkins or craquelure. Then apply some golden acrylic paint with a cotton pad.

Wipe off the excess with another cotton pad. And again dried with a hairdryer.

Right after, take a cotton pad with wax and cover the box everywhere, inside also — for smooth surface and nice smell.

In 15-20 minutes, rub the box with soft suede.

Tie a bow and metal leaf.

This time I put scented dried flowers from IKEA inside.
