Crocheting Cute Bast Shoes for 15 Minutes

I offer to quickly and beautifully crochet souvenir shoes from jute twine. This amulet can be used as a souvenir in the kitchen, bath, or as shoes for national or dance costume, shoes for dolls. You need jute twine and a crochet needle.

Cast on 5 chains and work double crochets in a circle without increases.

Crochet up to the height of the sock — it is approximately 2 cm (for shoes, size 5 cm). Continue working the sole with double crochets back and forth (approximately half of the loops) up to the heel.

Work about 4 cm and start decreasing the loops under the heel. For that, each row misses 1 loop, grabing one last stitch. When there is only one loop left, tighten it and cutthe thread leaving a tail for processing the top of the shoe. Use this thread to wrap the top of the shoe, passing the hook through each last stitch in a circle. This looks more like a real bast winding.

Our bast shoe is almost ready.

Similarly, crochet the second bast shoe. Pass the twine for the hanger through the top of one bast shoe. Knot it leaving the ends to join with the other one.

Join the shoes knotting all 4 twine ends, and decorate them with all you have at hand: this can be embroidery, beads, flowers, barabkas, birch beads, etc. Imagination is boundless. One can attach a small whisk to bath shoes. Attach wooden beads (or beads from a counting frame), knotting the end of the thread.

The finished items keep their shape, do not crumple. For a larger size, it is preferable to use the twine folded in two. Such lapotochki look more plausible.
