Knitting a Fluffy Chicken

I want to suggest knitting a fluffy Easter Chick. Also, the toy is relevant in 2017, as this is the symbol of the year.

You need:

  • yellow Kamteks cotton grass yarn
  • filler and granulate
  • light brown polymer clay for the beak
  • orange chenille wire, 30 cm
  • black eyes, 10 mm, I used glass eyes
  • white and yellow suede cords
  • artificial eyelashes tape
  • a little bit of wool for felting to match the colour of the yarn — for the forelock — and a needle for felting
  • bow and accessories
  • pastel crayon for toning
  • glue, needle for tightening and threads
  • carding comb or Velcro
  • discs for the head 30 mm, for body 20 mm, cotter pin and washers
  • round-nose pliers
  • hook of 1.25 or 1.5

Keys:

  • DC - double crochet
  • INC - increase

Knit on the backside.

Make tightenings for the eyes, later they are difficult to be made. The eyes are tightened separately, see the photos.

You can comb or Velcro the yarn.

  • R27 — (3 DC, DEC) (24)
  • Stuff + weighting
  • R28 — (2 DC, DEC) (18)
  • DECs and close

Trim the tips of the paws, drip a little glue and set them in the body.

Shade the place for eyes, beak, wing and tail tips.

Model a beak, bake it following the instructions on the package, and stick.

Sew or glue the eyes. Then glue white lower eyelids, eyelashes, and a yellow eyelid above them.

Add more shade.

Felt more wool to the head.

Fasten a bow to it. Tie the ribbon. The cute girl is ready.

Good luck and easy stitches!
